ScreenShot Mondays – Childhood 101

A couple of Mondays per month, PlayGroundology will screenshot a cyberspot that focuses on playgrounds, or play. I hope that readers will dive in and explore. Even if you’ve seen the selection before, take a moment and check to see what content has been added recently.

Childhood 101

Think of this as a very slow stumble upon, an invitation to relish something new or to revisit an old friend. Some of the people and places may be household names in the world of play and playgrounds, others not so much. I hope all will pique your interest in what they have to offer and further your own possibilities for playfulness.

Childhood 101 creator Christie Burnett says it all in her welcome quote – “A great childhood is about simple fun, play and learning with the people you love.”

This Australian site is a great place to browse to find great ideas on play, learning, literacy, health and more. The Goldilocks and the Three Bears photo brought a big smile to my face as our five-year-old son Noah recounted the entire story to his three-year-old sister Nellie-Rose on a family car trip yesterday afternoon. They would have loved these props. This is something simple and fun that I’ll have to try at home.

Lots of wonderful material here presented with love, care and creativity. Enjoy.

  1. Thank you so much for the feature, I hope you did have a chance to role play Goldilocks and the Three Bears🙂

    • Hi – there’s nothing like a good 3 bears play. We’re fortunate that we have 3 of our own aged 18 months to nearly 6. At least they seem to be little bears some day. Love your blog. Know anyone your way that I could speak with about playgrounds in Australia?
